Who Does What?

  • Community Member - Regulate personal use issues; educate yourself and get involved

  • Watershed Association - Establish current conditions; identify problems; implement restoration efforts; educate the community
  • Columbia County Conservation Office - Follow-up on problems in their department and a resource for the community
  • Department of Environmental Protection - Restore impaired waters using TMDL standards (Total Monthly Dose Limits-allocating amounts per source and plans for achieving it)
  • State, Federal, and Local Agencies - Planning, zoning, and regulating pollution levels; local decision making
