Central Latitude/Longitude: 41.2966 N / 76.3733 W The Bloomsburg/Sullivan "Limited" that ran through Central, late 1800's Central lies just above where East and West Branches of Fishing Creek meet, 2000   Location: N.E. corner of Columbia County in Sugarloaf Township Timeline of Events: 1840- Campbell Post Office Constructed 1851- Post Office became the Central Post Office. This gave the town its name. 1855- School opened 1888- Railroad was built through Central. Before that there were dirt roads 1900-1912- A copper smelter was built and operated. The land is very steep and there are many narrow valleys. Central had a small population and there were very few farms. by Alex
